Darrell is an avid learner who has been on a lifelong quest of learning and it was no surprise that education became a passion of his. In his quest for continuous learning, Darrell has graduated from various programmes to reinforce his knowledge in language, such as the Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) awarded by Cambridge, as well as the Specialist Diploma in Specific Learning Differences (SpLD) at the Dyslexia Association of Singapore, where he emerged as the Valedictorian of his cohort.

Darrell’s love for the use of language has also driven him to take up the Master of Arts in Literary Studies. He makes use of his knowledge and expertise in language by being a guest evaluator in various clubs in toastmasters, as well as being a language evaluator to continue bringing value to the toastmasters’ community.

Darrell has constantly sought to push his public speaking skill to the next level. He has taken part in the Toastmasters International contests every year, and has emerged as champion in various categories, clinching at least one trophy per year since 2020.

As an educator at heart, Darrell sees the need for effective communication and hopes to empower his learners with his knowledge and experience. He is an ardent believer in the sayng - “you don’t have to be good to start, but you need to start to be good”.
